Role Overview & Responsibilities

Job Summary

The purpose of the role is:
 This role is multi-disciplinary and underpins the laboratory support operations and small scale manufacturing. The laboratory technician’s role directly and indirectly supports scientists across various functions allowing scientists to concentrate on their core roll
 Delivery of agreed scope of work to achieve monthly KPIs
  • To carry out all scientific support activities in accordance with Health and Safety guidelines and local agreements
  • Act as Point of Contact for customers, actively engaging with them on a regular basis to understand their business requirements
  • Proactively identify and support operational effectiveness by implementing process improvements
  • Cleaning of laboratory equipment and instruments
  • Maintain records for equipment cleans
  • Maintain laboratory consumable/solvent inventories
  • Use of Kanban system (PoU’s) to ensure daily replenishment
  • Support performance checks on various pieces of equipment
  • Weighing and dispensing
  • Nitrogen Fills
  • Glassware processing
  • Waste management
  • Housekeeping

Required to provide cover in areas outside normal working laboratories during times of absence once fully trained
